This post is part of the One Little Word Blog Hop where members of Ali Edwards’ OLW class share their monthly assignments or something about their word. Each month, on the 1st of the month, I’ll participate and then give you a link to the next in line (see the full list of participants at the end of this post).
This month, our One Little Word assignment was simple. Take a photo of myself and add some words. We are allowing ourselves to take a breath. It’s perfect really… I have been hurling myself ahead so quickly these days past few years and I am soooo ready for a respite. Now that my daughter is in preschool for longer than five minutes a day, I can have some “me time.” (Enter singing angels here.)
I chose this picture that I took with my iPhone of me with my daughter because I was mindful of her youth and her creativity… just being in the moment and enjoying her closeness.
Ali says, “We spend a lot of time getting down on ourselves for whatever it is we haven’t done, haven’t kept up with, etc. This month I’m inviting you to let go of that – at least for a day – and accept yourself for where you are and all that you’ve done and all that you are.” How lovely is that? I don’t really do it very well, but I can try!

I’m so glad to be part of this blog hop! Some of the artwork these ladies do is just incredible! Now, hop along to visit Carolina for the next OLW post. She (and each thereafter) will send you on down the list from there until you’ve seen them all. The rest of the participants are listed below. I encourage you to visit every blog for more creative fun.
You can read other posts related to my OLW here. I look forward to visiting again with you on Wednesday. Enjoy your weekend!

Very sweet shot. 😉
Great photo – take lots more shots like that while she is growing up. I have so few photos of my kids with me in them!
Yes, it’s surprisingly tough to remember to get in the photo!
Love the photo. These memories and moments are so precious.
Cute shot. 🙂 It is great to slow down and capture those moments. 🙂
I love the photo. So cute that you were able to capture such a special moment.
I missed the hop, but posted anyway.

Loves those words from Ali this month also! Great in the moment shot!
I am VERY good at thinking of everything I have to do and what I haven’t done, but not very good at thinking of what I have already accomplished. Definitely a glass half empty kind of gal!
You know, that’s true of me too. I think I’m going to try to focus on the accomplishments instead.
Great photo – love that your heads are almost touching. Wish I’d had taken more shots like this when my kids were small. But I accept that and am grateful for what I’ve got!
Didn’t manage to join the hop this month but did post my photo.

I love the idea of just accepting ourselves for who we are today & celebrating that! We are doing the same in Life Book. Love the photo 🙂
