I can hardly believe it myself, but I made this! I really didn’t think I could draw anything, but this was the warmup assignment for Life Book 2013 with Tamara Laporte and she described everything down to each detail and it was simple to follow her design and embellish for myself. This is my fairy art mother. Her job is to refute those negative messages in my head – the ones that say I can’t draw or have no business even taking this class.
Life Book is a year-long mixed media class focused on self development and art techniques. There are almost 1500 of us so far taking the class!

Hi Naomi, just joined the blog hop today so now I’m “hopping” around…he, he. Love your Fairy Art Mother. She’s adorable. Isn’t it amazing when you learn a few techniques that drawing absolutely is possible? I’m like you, I often say, “did I really draw that?” I feel that way about the charcoal drawing I posted about today. Looking forward to watching your posts!

That means so much coming from you, Jennifer. Thank you!
I love your fairy art mother! I love the smile on her face and the look in her eyes. She seems very magical to me. 🙂
Thanks, Karen! It’s funny how she sort of became out of nothing and took on her own personality!
So cute, Naomi! We all need a Fairy Art Mother!! Now say that five times fast … LOL What I especially like about this is it’s not “polished.” I think as we get older we think everything must be perfect. This is perfect just the way you drew it!
She is beautiful.
May your fairy art mother shine light, and sprinkle your world with golden fairy dust.
XOXO

I love that you find interesting e-courses, and share your work with us. Lovely work as usual. It is brave to venture into new territory and learn something, and to share your learning inspires me to be more brave as well, thanks for that. All the best to you and your family in 2013

“Brave” is definitely how I’m feeling, trying new art techniques and just playing around.
She turned out awesome! My daughter Madi & I worked on ours last week. So fun! Love this class 🙂
