The Thrive Manifesto for Parents

This was written by Melissa Taylor of Imagination Soup, a site packed with resources about making learning engaging for kids.  She published this over a month ago, but I’m just now getting around to sharing it with all of you! You can download it here. Let me know if you love it as much as I do!

THE THRIVE MANIFESTO FOR PARENTS

We create learning environments in our homes.

We each are responsible for educating our children.

Our goal is not wealth but to raise inquisitive, capable children with perseverance and passion.

We teach through who we are.

We reflect, ponder, and grow.

We ask for help when we need it.

We do hard things.

We are creative beings.

We are learners.

We are beings with choice.

We show our children who we are.

We stop and listen.

We learn along side our children.

We celebrate hugs.

We laugh.

Our enthusiasm about anything is contagious.

We treat people with respect, including ourselves.

We set boundaries with toxic individuals.

We are mindful of our environment.

There is no right way, but many ways.

We never arrive –we journey.

We know our strengths and delight in them.

We are authentic.

We are vulnerable.

We act with integrity.

We collaborate.

We smile.

We encourage.

We give.

We love.

We adore ourselves and our kids.

We are not alone.
