Photo-heart connection: it’s the little things

To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work.” ~ Mary Oliver

I always enjoy being part of Kat’s Photo-Heart Connection and visiting the other participants’ blogs.  Haven’t done it before? You can learn more about how to find your Photo-Heart Connection here.

When  I use my iPhone macro lens, it’s inevitable that I see something that I never would have noticed with my “naked” eye.  Since our Agapanthus only bloom one time a year, I wanted to really savor them, so I dug out the little lens from my purse, put it on my phone (it attaches magnetically) and hit the back yard.  What I found was such a wonder-filled reminder to really notice the little things.

Here’s one little Agapanthus bloom from the side, which I think looks like a puppy’s nose and mouth.  Anyone else see that?

I looked even closer and saw this little guy.  He is so tiny that I would never have noticed him in all his complexity and activity.

After that find, I took a few shots of the grass too, just for fun!

So that’s it! I hope you enjoyed my tour.  Click here to view my other Photo-Heart connection posts and here to see a linky list to the other participants’ blogs.

OK, you’ve just convinced me to go buy those lenses! I knew I would eventually. Since I’m using my phone camera pretty much all of the time now, it will be a fun addition to my camera bag, er, pocket! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this wonderful details in the Photo-Heart Connection!

I was so inspired by the macro lens photos you posted way back when … I hinted to my hubby how much I wanted the lens, and he informed me, I did not have an iPhone at the time. Now that I do, he surprised me with a 3 pack of different lens for Mother’s Day. I am having so much fun noticing the little things. I was amazing by how artsy my chopped veggies were.
    Naomi, you always inspire me.

Love those photos! It’s like we get to see secrets that would otherwise be kept from us…

OK, I want one of those lenses NOW! These photos are amazing. That third photo is one of the prettiest pictures of a fly I’ve ever seen. Did you notice it seems to be holding another insect?

I know! The lens is only $20 too! It looks like some kind of casing it’s holding, doesn’t it? I couldn’t believe that it let me get so close.

I love Kat’s blog, and participated in the postcard swap earlier this year, it was great! I love your photos. The camera does make one slow down and look…..

I see a dinosaur mouth in that first shot, but I suppose that’s not very romantic and these images have that ethereal quality-not a dinosaur quality. I have yet to be able to embrace my iphone. I find it frustrating, yet these images are not from a place of frustration at all. Most beautiful.

Lol. I’m interested in why you find the iPhone frustrating. Or do you mean only for photography? I have trouble holding it still enough for macro photography.

  9. Becs says:

Wow! I had no idea the iphone macro lens was so great – these shots are beautiful. From the thumbnail I would never have guessed this was agapanthus (one of my favourites!). Love the quote you’ve used too – so true and a great reminder.

I always love seeing what that little lens can do on an iPhone. Great captures.
