This first canvas shows a neutral background that I added texture and a figure to. The second project begins with texture and I added everything else after, trying to see a girl emerge from the patterns.
You can see the original collaged background of mostly ivory and white scraps. Next to it is the final canvas, followed by a few detail shots. I just put this first piece in my Society6 shop, where you can buy it as an iphone case, a tote bag, stationary, or a print. Cool, right? I’m so excited about that.
This second project began with colorful papers and texture with stencils and modeling paste. Then I tried to see where the best place might be to add a girl.
