About me
Welcome and thank you for visiting! I’m Naomi – a mother, writer, creative soul, and avid reader. I aim to share my thoughts and ideas to inspire positive change that will help you live an authentic and caring life.
Poetic Aperture is for me and for you. I often write just to process the swirling activity inside, but I also hope to inspire COMPASSION, COURAGE, and WONDER in you and support you on your journey of elevating the everyday.
I am a rabbinical student at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. I am fortunate to have an amazing 15-year-old daughter and a supportive husband of 22 years.

March life and reading update
It is a glorious 57 degrees this morning and the sun is shining. I opened the windows! Why is this exciting? Because this is most likely the last day of such splendor for Houston until October or November. Six months … Continue reading
First 2021 reading report
On January 4, I started this post and titled it “Let’s get this year started reading!” And then I didn’t read much for about 6 weeks. š I think it was partly sort of a reading funk, where I couldn’t … Continue reading
December and 2020 reading summary
For a fun year-end summary, I tallied the books I’ve read in 2020 and realized that I have read far more nonfiction than fiction books! That is unusual for me, so I made a conscious effort to enjoy some lighter … Continue reading
November report, part 2
Please read my Part 1 report here. I read 13+ books last month! I did two more small diamond paintings. We had Thanksgiving. I got new glasses with progressive lenses. We made cards for hospitalized kids and toiletry baskets for … Continue reading
