About me
Welcome and thank you for visiting! I’m Naomi – a mother, writer, creative soul, and avid reader. I aim to share my thoughts and ideas to inspire positive change that will help you live an authentic and caring life.
Poetic Aperture is for me and for you. I often write just to process the swirling activity inside, but I also hope to inspire COMPASSION, COURAGE, and WONDER in you and support you on your journey of elevating the everyday.
I am a rabbinical student at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. I am fortunate to have an amazing 15-year-old daughter and a supportive husband of 22 years.

I’m enjoying the discussion we started on people-pleasing! Let’s continue our discussion about the 3 P’s (People-Pleasing, Perfection, and Pretending to be Superwoman) by talking about Perfection. What is it and how does it serve/not serve us? Tanya Penny offers … Continue reading
Perfection, people-pleasing, and pretending to be super woman
I think we should all let go of the pattern of thinking we need to be perfect, comparing our path to others, and judging ourselves. Aren’t we all exactly where we are supposed to be? What exactly are we afraid of? Tanya … Continue reading
Do what ignites your soul: permission slip for stay-at-home moms
I’ve got to tell you about Elizabeth Gilbert’s podcast called Magic Lessons! The first episode is called “Do What Ignites Your Soul.” It touched on something I feel often. As a stay-at-home mom, sometimes I feel guilty that I have … Continue reading
In the thick of it
“I’m sorry for yelling at Mommy and Daddy.” “I’m sorry for having a messy room sometimes and leaving my things around the house.” “I’m going to help the quiet girl in my class.” As I mentioned in Monday’s post, we … Continue reading
