About me
Welcome and thank you for visiting! I’m Naomi – a mother, writer, creative soul, and avid reader. I aim to share my thoughts and ideas to inspire positive change that will help you live an authentic and caring life.
Poetic Aperture is for me and for you. I often write just to process the swirling activity inside, but I also hope to inspire COMPASSION, COURAGE, and WONDER in you and support you on your journey of elevating the everyday.
I am a rabbinical student at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. I am fortunate to have an amazing 15-year-old daughter and a supportive husband of 22 years.

Seeing holiness in an ordinary moment
Just wanted to share a moment from yesterday. It’s a simple one, but yet extraordinary at the same time. This little hummingbird of a toddler sitting in front of me and singing with wild abandon was just so joyous to … Continue reading

Finding moments of perspective
I am trying to enjoy the beauty and the challenge that is motherhood for me. There have been several recent articles about balancing the chaos and exhaustion of parenthood with moments of realization that these early years are fleeting and … Continue reading
Stalking my own house
I park two houses down and casually stroll over to my house, trying to look like someone who does this all the time. As I get closer and closer, I try to avoid windows so as not to be seen … Continue reading
