About me
Welcome and thank you for visiting! I’m Naomi – a mother, writer, creative soul, and avid reader. I aim to share my thoughts and ideas to inspire positive change that will help you live an authentic and caring life.
Poetic Aperture is for me and for you. I often write just to process the swirling activity inside, but I also hope to inspire COMPASSION, COURAGE, and WONDER in you and support you on your journey of elevating the everyday.
I am a rabbinical student at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. I am fortunate to have an amazing 15-year-old daughter and a supportive husband of 22 years.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Tomorrow morning we will pick up Sweet Girl after her 3 weeks at camp. I’ve been thinking about what’s been absent from our home life while she’s been away. Schedule. Raising kids definitely brings about a schedule and routine of … Continue reading

On roots and wings
Being the parent of a kid at camp is sooooo much different from being the camper. Having spent many summers at this camp when I was young, I have a general sense of what SG’s doing and the kind of … Continue reading
Reading report, motherhood, and doves
I’m positive I have read more than 2 books since my last blog book report, but I just can’t remember what they were. Our library still has not reopened and I’m going to this pop-up shop in the hallway of … Continue reading
