About me
Welcome and thank you for visiting! I’m Naomi – a mother, writer, creative soul, and avid reader. I aim to share my thoughts and ideas to inspire positive change that will help you live an authentic and caring life.
Poetic Aperture is for me and for you. I often write just to process the swirling activity inside, but I also hope to inspire COMPASSION, COURAGE, and WONDER in you and support you on your journey of elevating the everyday.
I am a rabbinical student at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. I am fortunate to have an amazing 15-year-old daughter and a supportive husband of 22 years.

June OLW – listen to the whispers in your heart
This is hilarious to me… my mid-year reflections from last year are pretty much the same as those for this year. I know I’m making progress but there sure seem to be some sticking points! I’m still working on simplifying … Continue reading
May OLW: “I am…”
This month Ali invited us to do two things: (1) get messy with some artsy little cards and (2) respond to the prompt, “I am.” I made the background with my gelli plate and some paper scraps, cut it into 9 … Continue reading
Picturing and releasing: April OLW
This month Ali invited us to do two things: (1) pick something to let go of/release in your life and (2) connect with your word through photos. “Cherish” in photos: 1) These two love birds are still making our backyard their … Continue reading
Listening to inner guidance: March OLW
I have focused on health this month, as well as connection and self-care. Much of what I am “doing” is trying to “not do.” Sure, I’m taking too many e-courses and have been traveling, but largely I am trying to … Continue reading
